Today, we were at a one-day zonal press briefing on 2024 Global HandWashing day organized by Broadcasting Cooperation of Abia State (BCA) Umuahia in collaboration with UNICEF Enugu Field Office on the 15th of October 2024 with the theme: Why Are Clean Hands Still Important?’

The event was held in Enugu and WOSCONET was ably represented by the President –Amb. Mrs. Amaka Nweke and the Vice President -Mrs. Ezeaku Patience

Our President while speaking at the event stated that beyond COVID 19 or outbreak of other infections, hand washing campaigns should be a continuous thing and shouldn’t only be done when we have a pandemic or an outbreak of disease.

She emphasized the importance of taking hand washing campaign to young people in primary and secondary schools, catch them young so they will understand the importance of handwashing as a way to keeping themselves healthy and prevent diseases as most of these diseases are person to person contermination. In catching them young, handwashing becomes part of their life activities.
